Winter Programs

Coding & Robotics

Mini Dojo

(K - 2nd)

In this course, students will be exploring art through coding Robots. Using tangible coding to compose sequences in the application, giving students hand on experience and strengthen computational thinking skills. They will program the robots with block codes to maneuverer it directions & angles to draw artwork, play music, respond to touch, light, and sound, all while exploring the fundamentals of robotics.. Join now to become a robot master now! Students will be exploring art through coding Robots.

Coding languages learned: Block-Based Coding

Core Subjects Incorporated: Geometry, Units of Measurement, Vector Design

Coding Core Subjects Learned: Events, Sequences, Loops, States, Functions, Priorities, Timing, Program Stepping, and Debugging

Intro to Python

*with Robotics & Cybersecurity*

Upper Dojo

(3rd-5th) & (6th-8th)

In this course, students will both develop and strengthen programming fundamentals as they are introduced to the language of Python. They will create games, applications, and draw images as they learn how to code variables, if statements and run loops to modify data with some added ROBOTICS to infuse these concepts. Additionally, they will learn about module imports, using custom library assets. More advanced programmers will have the opportunity to learn Cybersecurity principles with encryptions and decryptions. Join now to become a master coder and game designer!

Coding languages learned: Python, PyGame & Block Coding

Core Subjects Incorporated: Arithmetic (Adding, Subtracting, Comparing), Creative Writing, Problem Solving

Coding Core Subjects Learned: Variables, If Else, Loops, Functions, Flow Control.

Spring Programs

Platformer Video Game Development

This course unlocks creative expression empowering students to design without limits exploring abstract concepts. Students will develop their very own, one of a kind, arcade style video game with pixel frame animations and level design platforms. From beginning to end, every element of this game, from backgrounds to powerups to heroes & enemies, will be individually Designed, Customized, & Configured by students using their imaginations. (Think: Mario, Sonic, or Pokemon!!)

Through the design thinking process they will establish the basic coding principles: Events, Conditionals, Data, Testing, Debugging, Decomposition.

Upon completion of the session students' games will be uploaded to a public (safe) arcade store for the world to enjoy!! (Games may be accessed and played on a tablet or PC.)
